English Speaking for Public Speaking & Anchoring
Whether it's a college fest or an office presentation, the person with the mic controls the room. Here is how to own the stage.
Public speaking is the #1 fear for many people. But it's also the fastest way to get noticed and promoted.
You don't need complex vocabulary to be a good speaker. You need clarity, energy, and connection.

Delivery: Voice & Body
Pause for Effect
Don't rush. Silence is powerful. "And the winner is... [Pause]... Rahul!"
Eye Contact
Scan the room in a 'W' shape. Look at people, not the back wall.
Voice Modulation
Vary your pitch. Go high for excitement, go low for serious points.
Killing Stage Fear
The only way to kill fear is exposure.
- Practice in front of a mirror: Watch your hand gestures.
- Record yourself: Listen to your voice. Do you say "Umm" too much?
- Start small: Speak for 1 minute in front of 3 friends.
Grab the Mic
Practice your speeches on EnglishMeet's audio rooms before you step on the real stage.
